Zeki Amdouni is a professional football player who plays for the Premier League club Burnley and the Switzerland national team.

His mother helped him during Ramadan

Zeki follows a Muslim religion, and during Ramadan, his coaches and teammates made sure that he didn’t have any difficulties during practices and matches. 

During Ramadan, Zeki had to fast, so he was allowed more flexibility. 

During an interview, he said his schedule was not actually much different than that of his teammates, and it hadn’t changed that much during the week. 

He trained at the usual time, but if he felt too tired, he was free to go. 

He didn’t need to come in the morning to have breakfast with the club and could stay at home. 

If he had a match during Ramadan, he would not have fasted that day and would have made it up later and compensated, known as Qada in Arabic. 

When he was away staying at a hotel, they would make sure to bring him food before sunset. 

Another person came to his rescue, and that person was his mother. His mother flew all the way from Switzerland to Manchester to spend Ramadan with him. 

He said with his mother there, it is much easier as she cooked to help him. 

The dieticians had put Zeki on a meal plan that included a high-protein and high in carb diet, and he couldn’t overeat at once as it would make him bloated the next day, so he ate multiple small meals. 

His mother came to his rescue by cooking the meals, which gave him enough energy.

Zeki Amdouni is single and does not have a girlfriend. 

However, he posted a story with a woman who had wished him on his birthday through an Instagram story. 

The woman's Instagram is under the name @zhour_amdouni. Since they share the same surname, she could be his sister or cousin.

He chose to represent Switzerland over Turkey

He could play internationally from three countries, Turkey, Tunisia, and Switzerland, due to his parents' nationality and his birth country. 

At first, he decided to represent Switzerland and joined Switzerland U20 in 2019. However, he switched to represent Turkey and joined Turkey U21 in 2021. 

He then again switched back to Switzerland and joined Switzerland U21 in 2013 and played with the team until 2023. 

He started his senior international career with the Switzerland national team after getting a call-up for the 2022-2023 UEFA Nations League in June 2022. 

He made his debut for the national team on September 27, 2022, in a National League against the Czech Republic after being substituted in the 79th minute. 

He contributed to qualifying for the 2024 European Championship by scoring his first international goal in a match against Belarus.

Zeki signed a five-year contract with Burnley on July 19, 2023. Burnley confirmed signing Zeki in a strange announcement video on their Twitter. 

Burnley posted a Teletubbies-inspired video where Zeki is seen talking to four Teletubbies from a stomach screen of Tinky Winky. 

Zeki, in the video, said he is very happy to be there and excited to play! Up the Clarets! 

He also revealed that the last two months were very important for him as he spoke to the coach, Vincent Kompany, and he really wanted Zeki. 

Zeki described himself as a calm player and can play from various positions, like forward, and show other skills. 

Zeki also wanted to work with Vincent. He added for his career, choosing a good club where the coach wants you is important for him. 

He knows the Premier League is the best league in the world, and it will not be easy for sure, but he is confident with the coach and staff.
