Youri Tielemans

Youri Tielemans is a Belgian professional football player. Youri plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Leicester City and the Belgium national team. 

He was born in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw, Flemish Brabant, Belgium. His father is of Flemish descent, and his mother is of Congolese descent. So, he is the mix of both.

Youri is a very dedicated, hardworking, and well-known football player from Belgium. At a young age, he started playing football, and he started showing love for the sport very early.

He started his youth career in 2002. He then started his senior year in 2013. He also began to play for the national teams of Belgium in 2012, and he is not stopping any time soon.

Youri is married to a woman named Mendy.

Both of Youri’s parents were teachers and judo instructors, and Youri had been practicing judo since a young age and is very good at it.

First in the family to become a footballer

Youri was from a middle-class family, and he was the first in his family to grow such a love for football as his parents and siblings were not big fans. 

He started to like football ever since he started to learn how to walk. His parents understood his passion for the sport and sent him to a football academy named Anderlecht at the age of 5. 

When he was young and was told to write an essay about what he wanted to be when he grew up by his teachers in school, he always wrote about how he wanted to be a football player.

Football only if education is continued

Youri was still young when he signed a contract with Anderlecht and needed permission from his parents. 

So, as his mother cared so much about his future, she considered his education to be equally essential and only let him continue the contract if he would continue his education and make both of them his equal priorities.
