Vilailuck Teigen is a Thailand-born mother to her celebrity daughter, Chrissy Teigen. 

Chrissy is an American model, TV personality, cookbook author, and entrepreneur. Vilailuck is best recognized for her nickname Pepper Thai.

Journey to an entertainment world

Her successful modeling career began after a photographer discovered her while working at a surf shop at 18, which earned her various contracts from the modeling agency. 

At the age of 21, she was a substitute briefcase model on NBC’s Super Popular Deal or No Deal game show.  

She has modeled several magazine covers and editorials, including Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Glamour, Italian Vogue, and popular brands like Billabong, Ed Hardy, Nike, Gillette, etc. 

After being introduced by her fellow model Brooklyn Decker, she landed her first highly coveted spot in the sports illustrated swimsuit edition in 2010, earning her “Rookie Of the Year.”

She has been co-hosting musical competition series Lips Sync Battle alongside LL Cool J since 2015 and is a judge of comedy competition series Bring the Funny.

Single mom and second marriage

Vilailuck was a single mother to her daughter Tina Teigen when she met her second husband,  Ron. After dating briefly, Ron brought both of them to the US and lived in Utah.  

Ron was an electrician by profession, which made the family move to several states. After the birth of Chrissy, the family moved to Snohomish, Washington, where they together ran a tavern. 

When Chrissy was 15, she moved to Thailand to take care of her father, who was fighting lung cancer. During her absence, her husband and daughter relocated to Huntington Beach, California. 

Divorce

Vilailuck was already living apart for a long-time before her then partner filed for divorce in 2019. She resided in Chrissy’s multi-million dollar Beverly Hill’s mansion, helping her daughter raise her two children. 

She is still living with her. However, they had not made any statement regarding their divorce.

Both, Vilailuck and Ron are incredibly close to their daughter Chrissy. Chrissy is over the moon, having her mother beside her every time.

She is rising to fame not only from her celebrity daughter but also from her work. She featured in Quibi’s comedy show Chrissy’s Court, starring alongside her daughter. 

The court-based show featured as Bailiff, Pepper Thai, and Chrissy as a judge premiered on 6th April 2020. 

Besides that, her cookbook is all set to be released in Spring 2021. She has amassed considerable followers in her Instagram account as well.

Marriage, Relationship

Chrissy met her then boyfriend, singer John Legend at the shoot of a John’s song, Stereo. He made a quite good impression on her on the first day as he ironed his clothes all by himself. 

Though it was not love at first sight for Chrissy, she soon felt for him after John’s move. They hooked up immediately after John invited her to a hotel room. 

According to Chrissy, she never thought she would marry John. She was living the moment. They dated for seven years before getting married. John proposed to her in December of 2011. 

The power couple are blessed with two adorable kids, four-year-old daughter Luna and a two-year-old son, Miles. 

They were expecting their third child, but unfortunately, they went on a deep trauma after losing their third baby boy named Jack halfway through her pregnancy.

Dating South African guy

Chrissy confronted that she was dating a South African guy from Durban before she met John. 

She spilled the beans after she was asked about the  South African dish she has tried cooking. In response, she tweeted, 

“My ex was South African, from Durban. He cooked. LoL”.
