Veronique is married to her husband Jean-Pierre Giroud who is of Italian descent. Together they share four children including Olivier. 

Olivier, the youngest of four was born on the 30th of September, 1986. Their oldest son Romain was also a footballer. 

He played at Auxerre Academy and represented France at Under-15 and Under-17 before dropping out to become a nutritionist.

She and her husband considered aborting Oliver

"I have been fighting for survival in the womb", Olivier revealed in a touching interview with The Times in the context of talking about his career and how he reached the top level dealing with all the adversities and criticism along the way.

He explained his parents considered aborting him and recalled the moment when his mother sat him down in the kitchen of their home and confessed that her pregnancy with him was not intended.

He said his mother told him he wasn't wanted and although his conception was unintended, she loved him as much as other siblings. 

He added that his mother had that in her soul and heart and needed to explain that he wasn't planned and was an accident.

Olivier told his mom that he received so much love from her that he would never think wrong of her, which explains why he always wants to fight every moment.

Her son is leaving AC Milan in Summer

Her son Olivier will say goodbye to AC Milan at the end of the season to move to Major League Soccer

In an exclusive interview with AC Milan, he announced that his next two games will be the last for Milan and he will continue his career in MLS.

Olivier emotionally expressed he is proud of what he's achieved at Milan in the last three years and although his time with the club might be finishing this year, the club will forever remain in his heart.

He further went on to say that he has given everything to Milan in his three years and it's the right time for him and his family for a different life experience from Milan.

After having won the Champions League, Europa League, and FA Cup during his three-year spell at Chelsea, Olivier joined Milan in 2021

Before that, he spent six successful years at Arsenal where he scored 105 goals in his 253 appearances and won three FA Cups.

Oliver admitted to being France's father figure

Oliver, 37 is France's all-time leading goal scorer. With the national team, he has won the World Cup, Champions League, Europa League, and four FA Cups

He scored the winning goal against England, helping the team to the semi-final in the 2022 FIFA World Cup

However, France lost to Argentina in the final on penalties after a 3-3 draw.

Olivier announced his retirement from International football after Euro 2024

In a recent interview, his teammate and captain of the national team Kylian Mbappe termed him the father of the national team. 

In his response, Olivier said, "I am happy he said father not grandfather". 

"People look at me like a big brother or father figure for sure, I have been like that for a couple of years now", he added. 

He also said he is quite young in his head and likes laughing and loves the kind of music they listen to.
