Valeria Alcantara

Valeria Alcantara is an athlete and former Brazilian volleyball player. 

She is popularly known as the mother of renowned central midfielder footballer, Thiago Alcantara, who plays for the Spanish National Team and Bayern Munich. 

Thiago Alcantara, from amateur to exceptional playmaker

Valeria has given birth to a gifted player Thiago Alcantara. She has made him exposed to the sports world since his toddler age. 

He was even born with a ball under his arm and raised amid of football players. 

This made him passionate about football since his early age and started as an amateur player with Flamengo, a football club in Brazil when he was only five years. 

A technically gifted player Thiago was a creative footballer even when he was a kid.

End of 18 years married life

Valeria was married to Mazinho in 1987. He was a former football player and head coach of Greek Club Aris. Now he is the Brazilian football manager. 

Despite being a volleyball player, Valeria abandoned her career to supporting Mazinho and their children and devoted her married life to cherish her family. 

But unfortunately, this married life could not last permanently. They ended their 18 years married life in 2005. 

After splitting from Mazinho, she got married again. However, she has not disclosed the person she got married to. 

She is even blessed with a child named Bruno from her second marriage. 

Now she is living happily with her daughter, Thaisa, who is a basketball player and with Bruno.

Valeria's husband was also a talented football player like her son. 

He was the renowned international player of his time who played 35 international matches representing Brazil. 

During his tenure at the football stadium, he was endowed with several winning titles, including the 1989 Copa America, FIFA World Cup 1994, and the silver medal at the 1988 Olympics. 

Apart from that, he is also recognized as a winner of the Compeonate Brasileiro and Brazilian Silver Ball award. 

Son Rafinha played for Spain and Brazil

Valeria's another son, Rafinha, is also a prominent football player, who currently plays a central midfielder for the Spanish club, Barcelona. 

He is an international player who represents Spain and Brazil during his adolescent period. 

He played on behalf of Spain in U-16 to U-19 team tournament and later shifted to Brazil, representing the U-21 team at the South American Youth Champion. 

He was endowed with several trophy, including LaLia Breakthrough player and player of the month in 2013-2014.
