He was also a member of the National Honor Society. He was rated a five-star recruit by the Rivals.com. He was also ranked 27th overall best player. ESPN ranked him in the Class of 2016 as 22nd overall.

In college, while he was a freshman, he had to undergo medical attention after he tore his ligaments in his first wrist. He was able to achieve an average of 5.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.6 blocks, and 62.9 % field goal percentage before his injury.
