Travis Bacon

Travis Bacon is a music artist and composer mainly recognized as the son of Emmy-nominated actor and musician Kevin Bacon and his wife, Emmy-winning actress and film producer Kyra Sedgwick. 

He is currently the frontman of an industrial metal band.

How did he get into industrial music?

Bacon grew up in a musical household, and his father played guitar. According to him, getting exposed to art as a kid, he found a voice in music a little bit more. 

He started playing guitar at the age of nine, but even earlier than that, he wanted to write his own songs. 

Then he got over fascinated with the 1977 film "Saturday Night Fever," and through that music, he got into disco music and Bee Gees became his favorite band. 

He started dressing like John Travolta. He said he started playing guitar because of Barry Gibb. 

At 11, he discovered rock zombies and Marilyn Manson. It was a little scary for him to go full force into it, but he was inclined towards it. 

He then got into heavier music. There were a couple of bands that caught his ear, and he decided he wouldn't stay away from it, especially from his self-indulgence.

After his second guitar class, he eventually learned how to record tapes and record stuff from the Karaoke machine they had at their house. 

He made the demo tape and plugged in his Casio keyboard that used to play drum patterns. 

The love story of his parents

His parents, Kevin and Kyra, first met on the set of PBS's adaptation of Lanford Wilson's Lemon Sky. 

In an interview with Conan O'Brien, Kyra said she was not looking for any relationship at the time, but Kevin was too friendly and sweet with everyone and would invite the whole cast for dinner. 

The whole cast would, yes, except for her. Kevin later confessed to her that the only person he wanted to hear yes from was her, but she never said yes.

Then, a couple of weeks into the scene, they were doing a scene where he was to massage baby oil on her back. 

During the scene, he tells her that she is very tight and asks if she ever had a massage. He then told her he knew about a great massage therapist at his hotel.

The massage room happened to be in the gym, and Kevin had said they would go out for dinner if she happened to finish her massage, and he did his workout at the same time. 

Kyra had in her mind that she was not going to tell when she was going, but to her surprise, as she was coming out from her massage room, he was also coming out from his workout. 

He later told her he had completely bought it. He called downstairs and asked when she was getting her massage. 

So, it simply started from the dinner date. They got married 18 months later, in September 1988, and have been together since then.

He is the older brother of actress Sosie Bacon

He is the older brother of actress Sosie Bacon. Their parents wanted to raise them as ordinary as possible and did not want to push Sosie into acting. 

However, Sosie followed in their parent's footsteps and stepped into acting with her first role as a 10-year-old Emily in the 2005 film Loverboy, directed by their father.

He is in a relationship with his girlfriend 

Bacon is currently in a relationship with his girlfriend, Angie Alaska. They have been dating since 2020. 

Back in April, he took his Instagram to celebrate his girlfriend’s birthday. With the series of pictures alongside, he wrote, 

”Anyone can find a “partner.” Not everyone finds the partner who truly loves their manic, clumsy, moody, carnivorous, anxious, crazy selves unconditionally.” 

He also expressed his gratitude for taking him as he is.
