Timo Kulczak

Timo Kulczak is well known for being the ex-husband of South African dancer Motsi Mabuse. Timo was born on April 27, 1977, in Aschaffenburg, Germany. 

He is a dance trainer and judge for standard and Latin American dancers. 

He has studied music-aesthetic education at the University of Education in Karlsruhe and continued his sporting career in the dance sports center of the State Performance Center of the Baden-Wurttemberg Dance Sports Association. 

He is a Grand Slam finalist, finalist in the German Open, and finalist in WORLD CUP Latin.

Relationship Status of Timo and Motsi

Timo and Motsi married each other in 2003. They met each other during their professional career during the Blackpool Open Dance Championships. 

She moved to Germany to be with him when she was just 18.

They are no longer together as they got divorced after 11 years of marriage in 2014. 

Why did Timo sue Motsi?

Despite years of divorce, she has recently been sued for £70,000 over claims. 

Motsi shared that Timo had restricted her access to cash and even decided what she ate during their marriage in her memoir titled Finding My Own Rhythm, which was published in September 2022. 

In her book, she also claimed that she had a difficult relationship with Timo which hampered her professional life. 

She wanted to open a dance school but couldn't after Timo refused. This wasn't the only thing he refused. 

She wanted to have a baby, but Timo declined her request to have a baby.

She further wrote that Timo took charge of her finances and gave her an allowance from the money she earned. 

She even shared that their relationship started to fall apart after they stopped dancing together and went downhill after all his control. 

She wanted to split from him, but he refused every time.

She shared a story about when she and Timo went to Thailand and told him that she was leaving as they fought every day. 

Even though he was refusing to split this time as well, she wanted to end it at any cost as she realized that she wasn't in love with him and hadn't been in love with him for a while.

Regarding these claims, the lawyer of Timo had asked the German Court to jail her for six months or fine her £250,000 if she ever repeated the claims.

Since Motsi is refusing to pay, the case is still in court, and Timo's lawyer said that the court will have to decide now. 

The lawyer also added that all they want is for her to retract the untruths published about Timo and to compensate him accordingly, as his reputation has been trashed repeatedly.

Whereas Motsi's spokesperson said that no such written court order exists. 

The spokesperson defended Motsi by saying that she would not face imprisonment due to her ex-husband's civil lawsuit and would only be payable if she culpably violated a court order. 

They also stated that there is no legal basis for Timo's lawsuits, and Motsi reserved all rights in the matter.

Timo revealed that he and Motsi had been in friendly contact after the divorce, and the accusation in her memoir is just a fabrication of the story to push book sales.

Timo, in an interview with The Sun, said she did something bad to him and his family, which he couldn't accept anymore. 

Motsi has now put something out there in public that is simply not true, and he couldn't just let things stand as they are.

He claimed he was a loving and caring husband who was always by her side at any time and whenever she needed help. 

He didn't see himself as controlling, but what he did was more of organizing and being helpful to her. He is deeply hurt and disappointed. 

Does Timo share children with Motsi?

During the 11 years of marriage, Motsi never shared children with her ex-husband Timo. 

However, Motsi is a mother as she gave birth to a daughter in 2018 during Christmas with her second husband, Evgenij Voznyuk, who is also a dance partner in her professional career. 

The name of her daughter is under review. They got married in 2017.

Motshegetsi Mabuse was born on April 11, 1981, in Mankwe, Bophutswana, which is currently known as Northwest Province, South Africa. 

She is a dancer who is well known for her debut in the German Dance competition television series “Let’s Dance.” 

She also became a judge for the same dance show and in the British dance contest show “Strictly Come Dancing.” 

Dancing wasn’t her first priority at the initial stage of her career. She was expected to pursue her career as a lawyer and join the family law firm.

Everything changed when she was studying at the University of Pretoria as she became more interested in dancing. And the rest is history.

Motsi herself was a Strictly, so she was unexpected about getting a call from there. 

She shared in an interview on This Morning that she was watching the show, and she joked about how they should call her, and then just three or four weeks later, she got called by “The Beggars,” and afterward, she met everybody and went through all process. 

They kept her waiting, and the longer she was waiting, the longer she didn’t want to do it because she was nervous about getting rejected, and she wanted to get a text rather than call if she was in or out.

She added that this is a normal life, and every time you put somebody on a different platform or every time the same couple gets a different platform, and it still doesn’t make them equal then to what people see as normal. 

She described that people should see it in a normal way, that they should scream like they’ve got a black person and they’ve got same sex.
