Retirement and comebacks

Alicia first made a brief retirement in late 2005 after an ear infection led to vestibular neuronitis, causing her to miss Australia's Fed Cup group matches. 

Even after her comeback in 2006, she was having a problem with her vision, middle ear, lost her balance, due to which she lost the first round. 

For a while, she played on a lower-ranking which was very challenging for her since she was ranked in the top 8 in early 2005.  She never felt like achieving until she got to high-ranking. 

In 2008, she made a shocking announcement of her retirement due to a string of setbacks and injuries, including arm and leg injuries.

Married life
