The Story Behind His Name

He was born on April 4, 2015, and it took four days to decide the name of the newborn. 

His parents wanted a name to be unique and something meaningful as well. 

As it was a significant decision for them, the actor Daniel in the interview, mentioned that he proceeds with a nickname like "Sweetheart," "Rasin," and even "Calcified alien" in the interim. 

However, their parents pin down two names before his birth. 

The couple yet has 700 names on their list, and then they also created a sort of Venn Diagram to see which name overlapped between them. 

Then they selected their top choices from the list. 

When he was born, the couple was confused between Theodore and Vigo.

After so much debate, they decided to include both names with the consultation of a numerologist. 

In the end, he got both the names, and his mother likes Sullivan's name, so they added that also in his name. 

As per his father, since he was born on the fourth day of the fourth month, so he decided to give him four names. 

So, they came up with the name Theodore Vigo Sullivan Gillies for their newborn son. 

Divorce 

The couple ended their relationship officially in June 2019. 

After this news surfaced on social media, their fans were left heartbroken. 

The couple ended their 15 years of marriage through an Instagram post. 

In the open letter, they mentioned that it was a tough decision for them to separate a couple, they have spent many beautiful memories together, and they asked their fans not to spread negativity on this for the sake of their children. 

When they made their separation official, Daniel was filming in New Zealand, and both of them wanted to explain to their children about this, but one at a time.

Rachel said the first three to four months were terrible, but they reframed their relationship, and for the rest, they aim to keep the relationship the same. 

When asked about how she explained the news to her kids, she said she and Gillies sat them down, saying there were going to do a serious talk. 

They told them their decision was not a kid but a grown-up decision. 

They assured them that they were always going to be their parents but were not going to be married anymore and every other thing would be the same. 

She said she was sure that her kids at the time didn’t get the full gravity of it, but they knew that it was not good news, and after the news, they hugged each other and cried for a second.
