Her parents, Patrick Dempsey and Jillian Fink, married in July 1999. They first met in 1997 when Patrick went to Fink's salon. 

Patrick told People that he was blown away the moment he looked across and saw her at her workplace. 

On the other hand, when Jillian saw Patrick's name on the list, she thought it to be a joke because one of the employees had the habit of jotting down the regular customers as high-profile celebrities. 

She was shocked, but at the same time, because she found him cute, Jillian added. At the time, they were both in a relationship so they only started later. 

They got married after two years in an intimate farmhouse wedding at the Dempsey family property in Maine. 

Everything was going well until Fink filed for divorce in January 2015. But marriage to Fink was something Patrick didn't want to give up on.

Talula graduated in 2020 but had to spend the last few months of her senior year in isolation due to which she almost missed everything, especially proms.

He shared how isolation and lack of socialization were very challenging for them, especially Talula, explaining that senior year is for proms and that it’s like a victory lap.

It was so sad as parents to see her not having that moment, so they hosted a "mock prom” at their home where Talula got dressed up and spent time with her friend on Zoom, he said.

Her father has been named People's 2023 Sexiest Man Alive. He said it was a great surprise when he got a call while he was on a plane. 

They were heading from New York to Maine, and when he got the call, he was constantly laughing, he said. 

"I have been the bridesmaid for People's sexiest man alive," he told People. 

He also shared that having recognition is fun, but at the same time, it gives him a platform to talk about the Dempsey Center and the type of work they are doing.
