• How did he get started in the industry?

According to Novak, he first got started by getting enrolled in a drama school. He went to drama school for two years, after which he got an agent. 

He was still at the drama school when he got his first part which was playing in Middle Eastern Assassin hired to kill Ross Kemp in a two-part ITV drama. 

Then he was out for six months. During the period, he somewhat realized that acting is quite difficult and not to get carried away with any success as it can be snatched away at any moment.

• The film or TV program that has influenced him the most

Novak said Goodfellas would be the one if he had to take the name of the single film. 

He says the film has not influenced his comedy or dressing sense because he would like to think of himself as a bit of a gangster in a wardrobe department. 

And the first funny thing he saw on TV was a Sesame Streets, followed by Spitting Image, and Spitting Image was the first thing he used to make an impression. 

He says there is no single inspiration as everything influences him in one way or another.

• The advice he would want to deliver to someone starting out

According to Novak, one must persevere and keep going and also, if one finds a partner in crime, that is very useful. 

Novak says he was an actor up to a point and then thought he wanted to get into a comedy, after which he started doing prank calls. 

He then met Ed Tracy, with whom he collaborated and created all the Fonejacker and Facejacker television shows and with whom he won the BAFTA. 

Together they pushed each other to be the better version of themselves. 

He added that if one can find a creative partner, it’s a good thing because it keeps challenging each other and can make one another laugh on rainy days.
