Svetozar Marinkovic

Svetozar Marinkovic is a tennis instructor mainly famous as the ex-spouse of American actress, model, and director, Robin Givens. 

He is of Yugoslavian descent.

His marriage to Givens lasted for just seven minutes

Marinkovic's marriage to Givens was short-lived. They got married in 1997, but they got separated the same day because it lasted for just seven minutes. 

Givens filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. Their divorce was finalized in 1998. 

It was the second divorce of Givens, as she was previously married to Heavyweight champion Mike Tyson. 

She also dated Michael Jordan in the late 80s though it was brief. 

In 1999, she welcomed her son William “Billy” Jensen with her ex-boyfriend, tennis player Murphy Jensen. 

Givens is also the mother of Michael “Buddy” Givens, whom she adopted in 1993. Following her divorce, she dated Brad Pitt and Howard Stern.

Marinkovic has lived a discreet life since his divorce from the Givens. 

It is yet to know if he is married, but rumours are that he is married to his wife and shares three children with her. 

He came into the limelight because of his marriage to Givens, but unfortunately, it didn’t work out.

Why was Givens labelled as the most hated woman?

Givens started dating Mike Tyson in early 1987 before they got married in February 1988. She was 23, while Tyson was 21. 

According to Givens, Tyson was physically abusive towards her before her marriage but would cry and ask for forgiveness, and she would forgive, thinking he loved her. 

Though she knew it was dangerous, she ended up marrying him because they were in it together. 

Their relationship began to fall apart after her miscarriage in 1988. 

However, Tyson, in an interview, later revealed that it was Given’s trick to get married to him. 

Tyson and Givens gave a joint interview to talk about their relationship with Barbra Walters on the ABC primetime news program 20/20, where Givens described her life as pure hell and Tyson to be manic depressive when talking about his volatile temperature.

When Walters asked her if Tyson hit her, she replied, saying he shakes, he pushes, and he swings. There were times when she thought she could handle it. 

She also said that there was no prenuptial agreement and didn’t think it was necessary because they planned to get married to be together, not to plan for divorce. 

However, Givens filed for divorce in October 1988, citing spousal abuse, which was finalized on Valentine's day in 1989.

Soon after the split, Givens started receiving hatred and was labelled as the most hated woman as well as the gold digger. 

Givens recalled an incident when a woman yelled at her, saying that Tyson would have kicked her ass and would have killed her. 

There was news of Givens that she received over 10 million from Tyson in a divorce settlement which Givens denied. 

She said she didn’t receive a dime after their split.
