Charles Shaughnessy, full name Charles George Patrick Shaughnessy, is an English Actor popularly known for his appearances on American Television as Shane Donovan on Days of Our Lives, Maxwell Sheffield on The Nanny, and many others.

As the son of Popular Television writer and scriptwriter, Alfred Shaughnessy and actress Jean Lodge, it was destined that he was going to be an actor.

Charles shared that the show was so successful that people recognized the cast of the show everywhere, and it was difficult for him and his family to go on a vacation as they would get mobbed and sometimes could not even get out of their hotel rooms. 

So one of his costars of the show pointed on a map to an Island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and said she wanted to go there in the hope that nobody would recognize her. 

However, the natives of the Island recognized her and lifted her up on their shoulders while chanting the show's name.
