While appearing on The Graham Norton Show, Atkinson was asked if holidays are misery and if he could go anywhere?

Atkinson said he couldn’t go to many places where he was not recognized. 

He finds the trickiest things to be not getting recognized particularly but being half recognized where people stare a lot. 

Humorously he added, he has the sort of feeling where he wishes the person to not stare at him, but rather he would hold up a flag saying, "Yes, it’s me." 

He recalled a funny incident where he was told that he looked like Mr. Bean. According to him, he was at a Land Rover parts department near Peterborough waiting for the car parts. 

He was standing around with a group of guys, and a guy was staring at him. After a while, he came up to him and said, 

“Excuse me, has anyone ever told you that you are the absolute spitting image of that Mr.Bean”? 

Atkinson replied that he is the actor who plays Mr. Bean. The guy, with a witty smile, said, 

“I bet you wish you were.” 

The guy was not ready to accept it. 

The more Atkinson was trying to claim he was the actual one he thought he merely resembled, the less he believed him and instead said the resemblance to be uncanny. 

Then he asked if he ever thought of doing any look-alike work like stag nights and hen nights and even suggested that he could go along as Mr. Bean so that he could make a good fortune. 

Atkinson added that he had to bring the conversation to a close because the guy was not ready to believe plus it was clear he was getting annoyed that Atkinson was pursuing the line of “I am Rowan Atkinson" when clearly the guy thought he was total arse who just because he happened to look a bit like Mr. Bean, goes around the country, actually claiming to be Mr. Bean.
