There were misconceptions that Stephanie Reddick's husband Lance Reddick's journey would blow up after his show "The Wire," which was one of the greatest shows ever on television, but it didn't happen.

On the query by the host on what the indifference to that show taught him about the business.

Lance responded he always knows there was racism in the business, but he thought that the level of his work would rise above it, but he was wrong as he saw it as it wasn't just him dealing, but it was like us dealing with it.

Lance further talked about his journey regarding the job plot.

He explained how he met a black manager and spoke about his show "The Wire" to which the manager responded that he doesn't know what it is, but he cannot get his white colleagues to watch that show, and Lance was like wow that's wild.

He talked about how tough it was for him to get the work after "Wire." The host was surprised when Lance said that it was seemed nearly impossible for him to get work as he was not even getting an audition.

When asked how often there were situations throughout his career where he identified racism.

He shared how two young white guys were complaining about how often they'd gotten this close to getting the lead on a TV show series.

He was shocked as he could easily count on one hand, and he doesn't need all his fingers how often he has gotten to audition for the lead in the TV series.

Lance was addicted to television

Her husband Lance shared how he felt like an outsider. During the interview, the host asked with curiosity if Lance got disconnected between the way he was coming off for the people versus the actual him.

Lance replied that he had faced those situations since he was seven or eight. The simple reason for that is just because of him being black.

He even said that for the white people, he represented something, i.e., the black person, but for him, he was just Lance.

And for the black people, when they heard Lance talk, he was something other than black. So, Lance feels like he didn’t fit anywhere. Lance shared how everybody in the class used to make fun of him then.

Lastly, Lance tells how in the fifth grade, he felt his existence was like just getting through the day, getting home, and getting entirely lost in the fantasy through the television.
