Sofia Simao

Sofia Simao is the mother of Eduardo Camavinga. Eduardo is a professional footballer who plays for La Liga club Real Madrid and the France national team. 

He plays from the position of Midfielder, usually a central midfielder, but can also play as a full-back.

Married life

Sofia Simao has been married to her husband, Celestino Camavinga, for a long time. Celestino is Angolan-Congolese. 

They gave birth to their first child and named him Sebastiao Camavinga. Sofia and Celestino were happily living their life in Kinshasa before the war broke out. 

They were forced to flee from their country due to a war. Sofia was pregnant with Eduardo at the time. 

They took refuge at a refugee camp in Cabinda, Angola, where she gave birth to Eduardo. They gave birth to three more children. 

In 2003, when their son was two years old, they moved to France for a better life. At first, they moved to Lille, then to the suburbs of Fougeres. 

Faced another tragedy

In 2013, the family had to yet again face another tragedy when their home burnt down. The fire destroyed all their belongings, leaving them with nothing. 

Since they were immigrants, they did not have enough savings to rebuild their lives again. 

They received enormous help from their neighbors, who helped them look for a new home and donated clothes, furniture, appliances, and many other things.

This tragic event became a source of motivation to Eduardo as his father, Celestino, looked at him and said, 

Eduardo, now you are the hope of the family, the one who has to lift it up.

The family of seven currently lives in Madrid. Eduardo credits his parents for his successful football career. 

His mother, Sofia, encouraged him to be a football player, and his father supported him. 

Her oldest son works as a hairdresser

Her oldest son, Sebastiao Camavinga, works as a hairdresser. Sebastiao is living independently in Madrid and has opened his own barbershop, Camavinga Cuts. 

He has successfully attracted many customers, including Jude Bellingham, Karim Benzema, Antonio Rudiger, Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Eder Militao and many others. 

Eduardo couldn’t contain his happiness seeing his brother fulfill his dream and posted a picture on Instagram with the caption,

The barbershop has its own Instagram account under the name @thecamavingahouse run by Sebastiao, where he posts photos and videos displaying his talent. 

A second wedding

On May 24, 2021, Eduardo posted several photos on his social media, and many fans speculated that it was his wedding. 

But it seems like it was his parents' wedding. In the first picture, Eduardo is giving a speech that leaves his mother all in tears. 

She is seen wiping her tears, and his father is standing, being emotional. 

In the second picture, Eduardo is hugging his parents. Looking at the third picture, it seems like he walked his mother down the aisle. 

Sofia looks gorgeous in her lace wedding gown with a tiara, diamond choker, and earrings. Sofia has her hands wrapped around her son's hand. 

Celestino is looking handsome in his white tuxedo and black bowtie. Eduardo is clad in a blue tuxedo with a black bowtie and white shirt.
