The early life of Rob Lowe

Rob is a successful face in Hollywood. He was born in Charlottesville, Virginia and followed Christianity. 

His mother, Barbara, was a teacher, and his father, Charles 'Chuck' Davis Lowe, was a trial lawyer. 

He has a brother named Chad Lowe, an American actor and director. Their parents got divorced when they were young. He grew up in Dayton, Ohio.

Relationship

Rob and Sheryl first met back in 1983 on a blind date and went out a couple of times with no serious commitments. 

Later they met in the set of Bad Influence in 1989, where they reconnected. There was no turning back from it, and they fell in love. 

They dated for two years before getting married on July 22, 1991.

Children

They welcomed two children together. Their elder son Matthew Edward Lowe was born in 1993, and their younger son John Owen Lowe was born in 1995.

They are also academically sound as Mathew is an attorney who graduated from Duke University, and Johnny is an actor who graduated from Stanford University.

Career

His professional debut was at 15 years old with ABCs sitcom A New Kind of Family. He was a member of Brat Pack and did many successful films, including The Outsiders, About Last Night, etc. 

He was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award and two Golden Globe awards for his role in NBC’s political drama ‘The West Wing.’ 

He recently starred in 9-1-1: Lone Star. He also began his podcast named Literally! With Rob Lowe and further launched his second podcast, Parks and Recollection, alongside others.

Controversies

When he was 24, Rob was involved in a scandal where his s*x tape was leaked. He was accused of engaging with a young aged girl, but later on, her age of consent was legal. 

Also, his early fame and good income added to his extreme drinking habits, which he later recovered by undertaking rehabilitation programmes.

Rob is passionate about his philanthropic works. He is the founder of Homeowner’s Defense Fund, a nonprofit organization in Santa Barbara. 

He was also the first male spokesman for the 2000 Lee National Denim Day fundraiser. It raises money for breast cancer research and education. 

He has also donated to several charities, including Live Earth, Elton John AIDS Foundation, Last Chance for Animals, etc.
