Shaunie O'Neal

Shaunie O’Neal, who was born Shaunie Henderson, is an American television personality. 

She is the creator and executive producer of VH1’s reality show Basketball Wives. She is the ex-wife of former NBA player Shaquille O’Neal.

She is glad that her ex-husband admitted his fault 

Shaunie and Shaquille dated for two years and got engaged and married two years later, in December 2002. 

The couple got separated after five years of marriage but soon reconciled. Again in 2009, Shaunie filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. 

Their divorce got finalized in 2011.

Her ex-husband admitted his fault while opening up about his marriage with People. I was a d*** head. 

You don’t know how good you got something till it’s gone, he told People. 

In his memoir “Shaq Uncut: My Story,” Shaquille shared his infidelity as the reason behind the end of their seven years of marriage, writing that he was a guy with too many options and admitted to not being the best partner. 

He shares four children with Shaunie, sons Shareef, 22, and Shaqir, 19, who both play basketball in the NBA’s development G League and at Texas Southern University, and two daughters, Amirah, 21, and Me’arah,16. 

Shaunie also has a son Myles from her previous relationship.

Shaunie is glad that her ex-husband admitted his fault during their marriage. 

She told Page Six that she is happy that he (her ex-husband) is able to share the truth of how he feels, but that was a long ago, and she doesn’t have an opinion on it as she is in a new place in life.

What he needs to share for his truth is what it is. 

She also expressed that she is tired of being asked about her ex-husband, whom she divorced almost 13 years ago. 

She is now happily married to Pastor Keion Henderson 

Shaunie has moved on with her life and is now happily married to her current husband, Pastor Keion Henderson. 

Talking to Page Six, she said she never got proposed to properly by Shaquille. She was asked to get married but wasn’t proposed to. 

But Pastor went down on one knee and proposed to her with his hand in the air with the ring which she had never experienced before. 

The couple dated for two years before they got engaged in November 2021 and got married in 2022. 

A romantic outdoor wedding ceremony 

Shaunie and Keion got married on the 28th of May in a romantic outdoor ceremony at Aurora Anguilla Resort and Golf club. 

Nearly 200 guests were in attendance to celebrate their big day. 

Singer Yolanda Adams serenaded as Shaunie walked down the golf course’s 10th hole in her extra-ravishing wedding gown. 

To make the moment more special, her three sons walked her down the aisle. 

With the demise of her father in February, she was struggling with how she was going to get down the aisle. 

Losing her dad in the midst of planning her wedding was a lot, so her sons handed her off, she said. 

All of her five children were there to support her in everything.

Keion also gushed about Shaunie, calling her a stone-cold fox, the most laid-back, hilarious, fun-loving person, and a woman of faith.

She invited her ex-husband to her wedding

During an exclusive interview with E! News, Shaunie shared an interesting story about how she ended up inviting her ex-husband to her wedding. 

She said their daughter had her sweet 16 in May, just before their wedding. 

So they were at the birthday party together, and Shaquille asked if he was invited to her wedding. Shaunie was like, Of course you are. 

She then recalled rolling her eyes and saying, “I mean, you are but do you have to come”? Which, according to Shaunie, has been their banter. 

She further said he was not coming but got the courtesy invite.

The ex-couple are co-parenting their five children and share friendly terms. 

Shaunie said they had to get to some space where they were able to communicate and remain friends. 

And it’s not like they talk about an everyday thing, but they do meet up for the kids and respect each other’s spaces and the places they are in.
