She was married to her boyfriend, Roman Atwood, on November 17, 2001 in Licking County, Ohio. The couple dated for two years before exchanging the wedding vows. 

They married at a very young age of 18 and agreed not to have children immediately. 

The couple planned to have a baby after three years. On October 18, 2004 Shanna gave birth to a baby boy named Noah Vaughn Atwood.

Roman fell in love with Brittney Smith while waiting for the result of divorce. On October 23, 2011, they were blessed with a baby boy named Kane Atwood.
