Sam Bowen is the father of West Ham United and the England national team winger, Jarrod Bowen.
Sam was a former semi-professional footballer who played at Merthyr Tydfil Football Club and scored five goals on his debut in the year 1996.
A failed marriage
Bowen was married to his wife a long time back, but nothing much is known about her as she wishes to remain out of the spotlight.
From their marriage union, they gave birth to three kids, two sons, Harry and Jarrod, and a daughter Ella.
However, their marriage could not last long and ended in divorce when Jarrod was just ten years old.
Although his ex-wife is out of the spotlight, she is as influential as him in Jarrod's successful football career.
According to Jarrod, his mom drove him up and down the motorway, and he owes to them, especially for who he is today.

He was offered a deal by Harry Redknapp, but the Welsh club turned it down
Sam would have played in the Premier League if Merthyr Tydfil had not turned down the offer of West Ham United manager Harry Redknapp.
According to Jarrod, his dad Sam was offered a trial by Redknapp, who at the time was the manager of West Ham United.
He went for the trial, and Redknapp wanted to sign him, but the club turned it down, and he ended up being in the non-league for the rest of his career.
Jarrod recounted his father telling him his story of West Ham wanting to sign him, but since Merthyr demanded loads of money and he didn't go, he ended up leaving for free the following year.
He is his son's role model
His son Jarrod considers him his role model away from football. He had a local boys team and used to manage them.
When Jarrod had a number of setbacks on his football journey and almost considered giving up the football, he instilled in him the mindset of continuing football and not giving up and was massively influential.
According to Jarrod, his rejection from Cardiff when he was 16 was the most challenging part of his career.
He went for six months unpaid at non-league Hereford because Hereford was struggling with finances and youth team scholarship at the time.
It was after then, he said to his dad, and he asked him to stick on to it.
Not only that, but Sam also helped Jarrod bulk up by asking him to wheelbarrows full of cement around the potato fields because there was no gym or routine of it in the non-league.
