Talking about his journey in football, he started his career in 2004 with the youth academy of Al-Hilal

Salman had contributed for whole four years with the academy team. 

Seeing his performance and dedication, he was then promoted to a senior squad in the year 2008 and led his team to win the trophy in the 2015 Saudi Super cup

To date, he has played in a total of 113 games and scored a total of six goals. 

Also, he was honored with the title of King Cup of Champions at the Saudi Professional League in the year 2010, 2011, 2017, and 2015

Other than that, Salman also achieved the national cap at the Saudi Arabia U23
