Neves proposed to his girlfriend after dating for four years

Ruben Neves has been dating his beautiful girlfriend, Debora Lourenco since May 2014. 

After dating for four years, Neves finally popped the question in May 2018. 

Neves took his social account sharing that her answer was 'Yes" with a series of pictures alongside.

They exchanged wedding vows in a small intimate ceremony in 2019. 

Blessed with three beautiful children 

Neves shares three beautiful children, two sons and a daughter with Lourenco. 

Their eldest child, daughter Margarida was born on the 6th of August, 2016 followed by their son Martim on the 13th of April, 2019. 

Their youngest son Mateo was born on the 30th of January, 2021.

Lourenco flew to their home country to give birth to Mateo. 

Neves in an interview revealed that he had to watch the birth of his youngest son via FaceTime because of the pandemic. 

Neves who at the time was playing for the Wolves said he watched it on his phone on the coach when they were returning from Crystal Palace expressing it wasn't easy for not being able to be there for an amazing moment for his family.

He also revealed that Lourenco went to Portugal because her doctor was from there and wanted to go with the same doctor because she had problems with their first baby.

After making a senior team debut with Porto in 2014 at the age of 17, he joined Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2017. 

He signed Saudi Arabia side Al-Hilal in June 2023. 

As he closed the chapter with the club, he shared a personal letter dedicated to everyone who played an important part in his six seasons at the club.

He expressed that he created thousands of memories in his six seasons at the club from playing 253 games to being part Champions of the Championships, Five years of Premier League football, an FA Cup semi-final, a European adventure, scoring 30 goals to providing 13 assists that will remain eternal. 

Describing his journey as unbelievable, he thanked every person at the club with whom he got a chance to work and the fans for treating and adopting his family as their own.

He concluded by saying that he would be a massive fan of Wolves for life and that he and his wife would never forget the time they had there as a family.

Neves decided to join Al-Hilal for his family's better future

Neves's decision to leave the Premier League Club Wolves in his prime playing career for the Saudi Pro League was a huge surprise. 

He was also linked with a move to Catalan giants Barcelona before. 

In an interview, he stated the reason behind his move without any doubt was his family, to give them the life he always dreamt of for them. 

He said he has three children and a wife and taking care of them is his biggest trophy.

During an interview with Sky News, Neves said his move to Saudi Pro League has given him more family time and he is loving it. 

According to him, the routine there is quite different from Europe because of the weather due to which most of the time the training starts after 6 p.m. 

It has allowed him to spend more time at home relaxing and with his family. 

He can take kids to school, he can pick them up from school and he can be a little bit with them before he leaves for training, he said.
