Rosalind Berhalter

Rosalind Berhalter is the beautiful spouse of an American soccer coach and a former player, Gregg Berhalter. 

He is currently the head coach of the United States men’s national soccer team. 

As a former player, he played as a defender and was a part of two World Cup teams during his almost two decades of playing career.

Gregg Berhalter’s background

Gregg was born in Englewood, New Jersey, to his beloved parents, Joseph and Dolores Berhalter. 

Berhalter grew up a Red Sox fan because of his mom’s first cousin, Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski, who is also his Godfather.

According to Berhalter, to be around the Red Sox legend was a privilege where he learned a lot about professional sports. Berhalter grew up playing soccer. 

He and Claudio Reyna played for the same club team, and then they both went to high school and were transferred to Saint Benedict’s preparatory school. 

Berhalter went to UNC to play college soccer and, soon after his junior year, moved to the Netherlands to play professionals. 

To be in the professional field in a different state was a challenge for him, a challenge he always wanted. 

Berhalter was at a point where he didn’t feel like college soccer was that challenging to him. 

He chose to get out of his comfort zone so that he could start reaching his goals and his dreams. 

He spent six years in the Netherlands, spent a year in England’s second-tier and went to Germany, and spent seven seasons before his final two seasons at Los Angeles Galaxy in Major League Soccer.

Her husband’s coaching career so far.

Berhalter hung up his boots in 2011 and took over the head coaching job for Swedish club Hammarby IF on the 12th of December, 2011.

But he was sacked halfway to his second season with the club. 

During an interview, while sharing his experience with Hammarby, Berhalter said that he was not prepared and didn't have a way to play, a way to teach, and a way to train it, and above that, he wasn’t being himself. 

After getting sacked, he went to visit major European clubs and realized that one needs to be structured and detailed in what one’s game model looks like. 

He then returned to MLS to coach Columbus Crew. During his five years with the club, he led the club to four playoff appearances and one MLS Cup final in 2015. 

He became the head coach of the United States national team on the 2nd of December, 2018 and on the 1st of August, 2021, led the team to the continental championship at the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup before leading the club to a 2-0 victory over Mexico in World Cup Qualifying at TQL Stadium at Cincinnati, Ohio.

Married life

Rosalind and Gregg first met at the University of North Carolina. They married in the year 1999. They reside in the Lake View neighborhood of Chicago.

Besides that, they live a low-key life.

Her wedding to her husband was private.

One of her four children is a professional soccer player

Rosalind and Gregg share four children, out of which one of them is following in Gregg’s footsteps. 

Their 21-year-old son Sebastian Berhalter is a professional soccer player who plays for Major League Soccer club Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
