He has been part of controversies throughout his career. He was accused of sexually assaulting Susan Bertram. He denied the accusations, but it was already heated.

This was not the only time he got into sexual allegations. He was accused four times from 1983 to 2013. He denied all four of the time, but there was no smoke without fire. It hampered his role in iZombie as CW conducted an internal inquiry.

The first time, there was no evidence found, and he was allowed to continue with the show.

There was a second investigation coming, and it did impact his work. He left the show before accusers came forward. He did not take part in any promotions campaign and also did not attend the Season Four wrap party after the allegations.

The story does not end here as on the 28th of February, 2018 Susan's lawyers announced that Susan was about to file a lawsuit against Knepper. Susan is going to seek damages in a jury trial.
