Ray Dussan is famous for being the husband of Louise Ardern, who is the sister of New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern. Ray was born in Columbia.

Married his long-term partner

Dussan married his long-term partner Louise Ardern in July 2017. The couple dated for a decade before walking down the aisle. 

The couple had been residing in London with their daughter Isabella before their marriage. Ray and his wife are living a blissful married life with no signs of divorce.

His sister-in-law Jacinda made a surprise entry at their wedding

The couple wedded at the cozy villa outside of Barcelona, Spain. At their wedding, the couple was expecting their second child in October after giving birth to their firstborn, daughter Isabella in 2013

Another big moment at their wedding was his sister-in-law Jacinda’s surprise entry which made the environment joyful filled with tears of happiness.

Jacinda said when her sister Louise saw her, she still had no idea as she had not expected her entry as it was an elected year and Jacinda had just been made the deputy leader. 

It was a last-minute plan, as stated by Jacinda. According to Jacinda, the wedding was full of Spanish, small and beautiful, and she was delighted to meet Ray’s family even though they had to communicate in Spanglish

On the other hand, Louise was over the moon seeing her sister and said the day could not have been more perfect for her.

According to her, she had no idea of her sister attending her big day and admitted never blaming her initial decision not to come but at the same time being sad about her absence as the day of her wedding got closer. 

She also added her entry meant the world for her.

His son was born on the day Jacinda was sworn in as a prime minister

Dussan shares two beautiful kids with his wife Louise, a daughter aged seven and a son aged four

The couple gave birth to their son on the day Jacinda sworn in as a 40th prime minister on the 26th of October, 2017. The happy news was shared by Jacinda herself. 

With the news, she went on to say that her parents Ross Ardern and Laurell Ardern split the duties where her father Ross attended the swearing-in and her mother attended the birth of her grandson in the U.K. 

After the birth of their son, they moved to live in New Zealand from their family home in Britain.

Louise said she could not be prouder of Jacinda. She worked so hard.

Jacinda’s work has been praised throughout the world

Jacinda became the youngest female to become New Zealand’s head of government at 37 on the 26th of October, 2017 after having entered New Zealand’s parliament as an elected Labour Party as a list MP and eventually winning the special election for the MP seat on the 25th of February, 2017 then deputy leader in March and in August as a leader before NZ first leader announced supporting Ardern as prime minister in a coalition government on the 19th of October, 2017

Jacinda gave birth to her daughter Neve Te Aroha Ardern Gayford on the 21st of June, becoming the second head of state in history to become a mother while in power and returning to work after six weeks

On the 15th of March, 2019,  51 people lost their lives in the terrorist attack at two mosques in the city of Christchurch

Within less than a week, she changed the law announcing the ban of all military-style semi-automatic weapons along with all assault rifles. 

During the COVID-19 crisis, she gave an order to close all New Zealand’s borders to foreign visitors that followed with a nationwide lockdown that required all non-essentials workers to stay at home. 

On the 15th of April, 2020, she announced she and all the members of the government would take a 20 percent pay cut for the next six months and on the 11th of May made an announcement of the relaxing of lockdown measures while staying aware, the same month she received a 59.5 percent positive rating in an opinion poll. 

She won a second term in office as New Zealand’s prime minister on the 17th of October, 2020. She received global praise for successfully eliminating the virus in both waves. 

Jacinda canceled her wedding in January 2022 following the rise of Omicron cases and a week later announced she had entered into self-isolation after close contact with the Covid virus.
