When they arrived at Zadar, they started living in a cheap hotel. They spent several years without any electricity or running water.
Grenades and bullet's sound was an everyday event for Luka and his little sister Jasmina and landmines potentially hidden around any corner.
Away from Home
As Luka's father was a skilled mechanic, he continued to work in Zadar.
Though the family house of the Modric is still intact till today, Zadar became the new home for the Modric family when they had to leave their village.
Stipe worked hard for his family, which improved their financial status and lifted them to a higher middle-class family.
By that time, Luka had also started to play football. Now, the Modric family is super-rich; all credits go to Luka and his hard work.
