His parents reconnected during the pandemic after announcing their separation in 2017

His parent, Ben Stiller, and Christine Taylor, got married in 2000, a year after their first meet, while filming a 1999 pilot for Fox called Heat Vision and Jack, though the pilot never aired. 

In 2017, they got separated but reconnected during the pandemic. 

While appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show, Christine shared how the pandemic brought them back together. 

According to her, everything happened pretty quickly. 

She and Ben got engaged just six months after their first meet, married within a year, and had their first child the following year. 

Their family was always their priority, but they sort of started to grow in different directions because of their career demands, due to which they decided to split. 

It was not something that they wanted to talk publicly about and something that they took lightly either, but they were both at a sort of impasse where they were like they needed to figure out what was best for them at that chapter of their lives and needed time for that.
