Her father, Stephen Moyer, is an American Actor and Director who is popular among fans for his role in the HBO series named ‘True Blood.’ 

He played the role of Vampire in that series.

Her mother, Anna Paquin, is also an actress. She was born and brought up in New Zealand.

Alcoholic

Her father was an alcoholic many years ago. But he has been overcoming that for the past 17 years. 

In an interview, he said that the addiction stemmed from his roots in British Theatre and emulating the public images of his heroes, such as Peter O’Toole. 

He also mentions at a CLARE Foundation dinner that, 

“there is this rush that happens from doing our job, this whirring buzz, and you want to continue that Buzz.”  

Now he works with that Foundations to support others with rehabilitation and living a normal life.

Poppy's mom talked about her favorite roles to date

Anna firstly shared that it is always fun because the things that people know you for or have had the biggest impact on are usually not the ones that were the personal growth. 

She shared her first movie, "The Piano," where she chuckled and stated that you cast the kid locally because it's easier and cheaper. 

She recalls she stumbled into it with some friends, and then it turned out that Anna had a career. 

She then moved on it with Hurly Burly film, where she was just the kid, and she denoted it as the sort of the first grown-up movie she ever did. 

She tried her best not to sound like she was a child and had no idea what she was doing on the set. 

Next, in A Walk on the Moon movie, she described that her character was facing a lot of things which was very synced up age-wise with things she was going through in real life, which she claims in some ways was intensely awkward. 

She described her movie "True Blood" as life-changing. Anna mentioned Margaret movie and shared she was 23 at that period when she got to experience one of the most professionally intense and gratifying, and amazing experiences. 

Lastly, Anna pointed out "The Parting Glass" movie as a very personal and heartfelt film for Denise O'Hare as it was about his sister's suicide and was an absolute labor of love.

Recalling Stephen Moyer's earlier days

Stephen originally belongs to Brentwood, Essex. Young Stephen went to St Martin's School. 

That school is denoted as a comprehensive school located in Hutton, Essex. He then graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). 

Other than that, Stephen also became the first-ever patron of Brentwood Theatre back in October 2007. 

The actor was captured supporting their Reaching Out, Building On campaign, whose main motive is to help fund the 2008 completion of backstage facilities.
