According to her, her parents were like, “you are not doing much this season,” so she asked them to watch that particular episode where she comes out naked from the raging fire.

Emilia was shocked to the core after the demise of her father. Sharing her experience, she said of being more scared and was left to search for answers following the death of her father. 

Speaking to Rolling Stone Magazine, she said that once her father passed away, the world felt like a scarier place for her since her father was not in it, and also after the Brexit happening in the quick succession threw her off balance, making her re-evaluate who she was. 

During the re-evaluation, she contemplated she is a woman, and there aren’t many of them performing in the environment she is performing in.

In  2021, she revealed the book that helped her grieve her father’s death. As an avid reader, Emilia confessed to being unhappy if not being in the middle of the book. 

When she is still coping with the loss of her father, she found the book “Why Didn’t You Just Do What You Were Told,” the book by late essayist and novelist Jenny Diski which helped Emilia grieve her father and understand the life and death more closely and deeply. 

She stated that she lost her father four years ago, and to her, it still feels like it was yesterday. And since his death, she confessed to thinking about death and considering her father’s the most. 

Going through the understanding of death and the late Diski’s take on that was a tonic for her soul added, Emilia.
