Pape Gueye is a professional footballer who is a defensive midfielder for Ligue 1 club Marseille and the Senegal national team.
Born in France, he was eligible to play for Senegal because of his Senegalese parents.
Despite his young age, he knew what he wanted in life
Gueye was born and raised in the neighborhood of Montreuil, a place famous for both good and bad things.

His childhood dream of playing for Marseille finally came true after he signed Marseille in July 2020.
During an interview, he stated that being younger, he dreamt of playing for OM, which is known in France and around the world.
”When OM calls you, you have to be crazy to refuse. We know the supporters, the Velodrome, there are a lot of things to say about the club, he added.
FIFA imposed a one-year transfer ban on Marseille because of the ongoing dispute over the 2020 signings.
In April, it was revealed that Gueye signed a pre-contact with Watford when his contract with Le Havre expired in July.
But he changed his mind and agreed to a deal with Marseille.
