Oona Birbiglia

Oona Birbiglia is a celebrity daughter of award-winning stand-up comedian Mike Birbiglia, who is also an actor, director, and writer. 

Oona started going to school from the age of one and a half. Mike has written a book, The New One: Painfully True Stories from a Reluctant Dad. 

According to Mike, the book is a letter to his daughter Oona which he has written being painfully and brutally honest so that his daughter would get to know him more closely. 

He thinks if we are honest with someone we love, it makes us even closer in the long term, although it may be painful in the short term. 

Her parents are happily married 

Her parents, Mike Birbiglia and Jen Stein have been happily married since 2007. It was a private wedding ceremony in a City Hall with actor Nathan Lane as his witness.

She is the only child

Oona is the only daughter of Mike and Jen. Mike was reluctant to have a kid, but Jen convinced him and finally came up with a decision to have a baby. 

Jen had a rough pregnancy due to which she became more connected with her daughter from the very beginning.

Oona struggled to have a connection with her father for some time

Mike confessed to not being ready to become a father at the time of her birth. He did not feel a connection with her baby at first.

At the same time, he was not being able to help with his daughter at night because of his sleeping disorder. 

After the birth of Oona, he started sleeping in a separate bedroom, which not only created distance between him and his daughter but also with his wife, Jennifer. 

According to Jen, Oona was a terrible sleeper, and Jen had to hold her every time; otherwise, she would scream if she was put down, so she had to be with Oona for a long time which created a lot of differences between Jen and Mike. 

Jen had the intuition that her marriage could come to an end in that period because of an emotional distance. 

When Oona started to talk, Mike realized how she felt. For him, verbal communication was so profound that he started communicating more and eventually connected. They are close now.

Mike has a sleeping disorder

Mike has a dangerous sleeping disorder, leading him to jump from the second floor of his hotel room in Walla Walla, Washington. 

He had a dream where the missile was heading towards the hotel room he was staying in, and he jumped from the window in real and had to receive 33 stitches in his legs. 

He later got to know having REM (rapid eye movement) disorder where people physically act out, often dangerous with hands and legs movements to unpleasant dreams.
