His father was still married when he first met his mother

His parents, father Ric Ocasek, co-lead vocalist for the rock band The Cars, and mother Paulina first met during the filming of the music video for The Cars in the year 1984. 

Paulina was 19, while Ric was 40 at the time. His father was still married to his second wife, Suzanne Ocasek when he first met Paulina. A year after his divorce from his second wife, his parents got married.

His parents were in the divorce process before the unexpected death of his father

After nearly three decades of their togetherness, Paulina in 2018 made a shocking announcement that she and Ric were living separately a year earlier. 

They were in the process of divorce, but the divorce could not be finalized due to Ric's unexpected death in 2019. He took his last breath at their shared home in Manhattan townhouse at the age of 75 on 15 September 2019. 

According to Paulina, she took care of him and had surgery planned, thinking they were best friends and family forever. 

Before his last breath, he cast aside his wife out of his will, stating that she abandoned him before his surgery. Since the divorce could not proceed, she is a widow, and she may get part of his real estate share.

Oliver and his brother has planted cherry blossom in his honor

Oliver, on his Instagram, posted a picture of a cherry blossom plant. 

He also mentioned that he and his brother Jonathan planted the plant beside his cemetery to add a splash of color in his father's honor since his father always loved bright retro colors.

Paulina has once again found love. He is none other than an award-winning director Aaron Sorkin.
