Nick Kerr

Nick Kerr is the son of a professional basketball coach and a former player Steve Kerr who is the head coach of the Golden State Warriors. 

Nick attended Torrey Pines High School and earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of San Diego. 

Nick played basketball for years as a point guard, following his father's footsteps but could not make it to the NBA like his father. 

He became an Intern Coach at the University of California. Later, he took the job at San Antonio Spurs as a film assistant.

His parents met on a blind date

His parents Steve and Margot Kerr, both attended the University of Arizona in 1985. They met on a blind date arranged by their mutual friend, Bruce Fraser, who played with Steve in the College basketball team. 

Bruce and Steve are still working together. Bruce is the assistant coach for Golden State Warrior. 

Both Steve and Margot were nerdy, which connected them and soon got along and began dating. 

They even remained in a long-distance relationship when Margot was working in Los Angeles. After Steve was drafted by the Phoenix Suns, she gave up on her job to be with Steve. 

They ended up marrying on the 15th of September, 1990. The couple has been inseparable since then.

He has two younger siblings

Nick, who was born Nicolas, has two younger siblings, a sister Madeleine (Maddy) Kerr, and a brother Matthew Kerr. 

His sister is an athlete as well. She is an avid basketball player. She was ranked at the top in her senior year at the University of California. 

However, she later joined the law school at Berkeley. The younger brother Matthew is not into any of the sports. 

He is into writing and was a film student. All three siblings live on their own. They moved back to their parent's home in San Diego during the Coronavirus pandemic to be with one another. 

According to Steve, the Kerr family got enough time to spend quality time with each other during the pandemic. 

He also said they took advantage of all the time together since they do not get to spend much time together due to their busy schedules.

Wedding on the way

Nick has found the love of his life, whom he has known for the past seven years. He was dating his girlfriend named Kendall, who is now his fiancé. 

The couple got engaged in December 2019. 

Sharing the post flaunting her engagement ring, Kendall on her Instagram wrote: 

Soon to be Kendall & Nellie Kerr. 

Nellie is their pet, A French Bulldog. The couple is yet to get married, but they might walk down the aisle anytime soon. Kendall is a certified yoga sculpt instructor.

There was a rumor of him being a Warriors spy while being at Spurs

Nick is blessed to have a father like Steve Kerr, who is caring, supportive, and a protective father. 

When Nick was working as an intern for Spurs in 2018, he was voted out of the film room, but it was coach Gregg Popovich who let him stay overruling voters. 

There was a rumor that he was a spy spent by his father for the Warriors. In a media conference, he urged everyone to stop calling his son Nick the Warriors Spy and end the joke about him. 

He added that Nick was unbelievably loyal to Popovich. Popovich coached Nick during his playing days and had a long-term relationship with him, making it possible for his internship at Spurs.
