Myla Rose Federer is best known as the daughter of the world's richest professional tennis player Roger Federer and former professional tennis player Mirka Federer.

About Parents

Mirka Federer, full name Miroslava Federer was born on 1 April 1978 in Bojnice, Czechoslovakia. 

She immigrated to Switzerland with her family when she was two years old. She began to play tennis when she was nine.

In 2001, she had the best Grand Slam performance. Mirka reached the third round of the US Open in that game. 

She retired from professional tennis in 2002 due to a foot injury.

Her father, Roger Federer, was born on 8 August 1981 in Basel, Switzerland, to Robert Federer and Lynette Federer. 

He was raised with Sister Diana. 

He began his professional career from the junior team in 1998. He reached the US Open junior final in the same year. 

After appearing in the 2001 Wimbledon Championships, he came to prominence where he faced four times defending champion Pete Sampras. 

He has already won several tournaments and titles to date.

How did her parents meet?

Roger and Mirka first met each other in 1997 at Biel, Switzerland, for tournaments. 

The meeting was short at that time.

Again the couple met each other at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. 

At that time, they both were playing tennis for Switzerland. After that, they eventually fell for each other.

In one interview, Roger revealed that they had their first kiss on the last day of the Sydney Olympics.

The couple announced they were expecting their first baby just one month before their wedding. 

They were blessed with identical twins in 2009. The couple named them Myla Rose and Charlene Riva.

They were cheering after Roger won Gentleman's Singles final during the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships. 

Her father’s nickname

Myla’s dad Roger revealed that his family has given him the nickname Rog and also, in Swiss German, it’s Roch-ee. 

He also shared that the most Swiss thing about him is that he is a chocoholic. 

Moreover, Roger knows four languages which include Swiss-German, German, French, and English. 

Among all, the favorite expression he likes is the word “Allez” in French, “Come on” in English, and “chum jetze” in Swiss-German on the tennis court. 

Well, do you know that Roger began his career as a ball boy? Roger shared that when he was twelve years old, he used to be a ball boy in his home tournament in Basel. 

He actively did it for two years which he shared as a great experience. While growing up, Roger’s tennis idol was Boris Becker, Stefan Edberg, and Pete Sampras. 

Also, he says that his mom was a little bit of a tennis coach. However, his mother didn’t really coach him. 

The best advice Roger's mom gave to him was Never let the ball bounce twice. 

The advice he gave to all kids out there is to dream big because all we do sometimes is not dream big enough as we have that thought in our mind that there are barriers and stuff out there. 

When it came to choosing between grass or clay, Roger chose grass, and between Forehand or Backhand, he chose Forehand; in Spin or flat, he chose Spin. 

Moving forward, Roger used to love watching Prison Break among the TV series. His style icon is Tom Ford. 

Roger says that when he is feeling good, he will wear a bathing suit and a t-shirt on a beach somewhere. 

The memorable thing he has worn to date is the tuxedo with a diamond-encrusted sort of cobra on the back from Gucci, which he wore at the Met Gala. 

Well, the best fashion advice he did get was that you wear clothes, not the clothes you wear. 

He mentioned the things Roger had learned from his kids are patience and snuggling.
