Mykhailo Mudryk

Mykhailo Mudryk is a Ukrainian-born professional footballer who plays as a winger for Premier League Club Chelsea and Ukraine national team.

His background and early career

Mudryk was born and raised in the town of Krasnohrad, Ukraine, alongside his older sister. 

Mudryk has a nickname, Misha. His family calls him by his nickname. His mother is a primary teacher, while his father is a music teacher at college. 

During an interview, his mother said the love for football between Mudryk and his father is mutual. 

They used to play football in the evening after his work which was a ritual. 

She also said Misha was very smart from his childhood days, and even he was a child; his thoughts were not childish at all. 

He used to ask questions about God when he was three. 

His father said he was intelligent from the very beginning, and his choice of sport was conscious, and they supported his choice fully. 

When Mudryk joined Metalist Kharkiv at the age of nine, Mudryk was at Kharkiv, and his parents were at Krasnohrad, but they saw each other very often, and his father never missed the training as well as the games of his that the Academy held. 

According to his parents, Mudryk’s formation as a player began with Metalist Kharkiv, as he always had good coaches.

Mudryk joined Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk’s academy in 2014 before joining Shakhtar Donetsk in 2016. He made his senior debut at the age of 17.

Every tattoo on his body has its own meaning

Mudryk is a fan of tattoos and has inked varieties of tattoos on his entire body. 

Among all the tattoos which have their own meaning, he considers “Only Jesus” to be the most important one. 

He has inked the phrase “Only Jesus” in large letters. For him, Jesus is first of all, and everything and every success is from him. 

He has another tattoo on his neck with the phrase “Talent ain’t enough” which means hard work. 

He has inked the word “Again” six times which specifies the work ethic that took him to reach the top. 

His heart tattoo alongside the football signifies his immense love for football. A devout Christian has full faith in God and has a message to the creator of the World. 

He has inked, “Dear God, If today I lose my hope, please remind me that your plans are better than my dreams.” 

His other tattoo is on his finger. “Thank-you God“ is written to express his gratitude for everything he has achieved.

His recent tattoo is a picture of a blue butterfly on his neck. In an interview, he said he was inspired by a 2017 movie “Papillon.” 

He was really moved by the movie and its primary message. He also read a book that he found more interesting than a movie. 

He then searched the meaning and found that the blue butterfly indicates character traits such as determination and persistence. 

It always flies to the light even when there is a threat to their lives in their way.

His idol is Ronaldo 

Mudryk, in an interview, revealed that he idolizes football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. He said he likes his mentality and sees himself like that. 

He also admitted he needs more time to change his position from 11 or 7 to 9 but it’s possible with time.

Mudryk is currently focusing on his career. He is not dating anyone and is currently single.

Mudryk became one of the most expensive Ukrainian footballers of all time after he moved to Chelsea in 2013 in a transfer worth 70 million euros.
