She won the Gold Walkley Award for the category of Excellence in Journalism 1991. She also won Walkley Awards for the type of Best International Report as well as Best Coverage of a Current Story 1991. 

She also won the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 1992 and this was one of the most significant achievements of her career. She won it for her outstanding services to the community as a radio correspondent. She gave it all in her services while she was working in Russia.
