He had a comfortable childhood though it wasn’t lavish

Kudus admitted to not having a lavish childhood but had a comfortable one. When asked about his parents, Kudus only mentions his mother but not his father. 

His mother, Mariama Suleman, was taking care of him and his siblings, and also his uncles were supporting her in raising them. 

He had all his basic needs, and school stuffs fulfilled. He had a very structured lifestyle from an early age, for which he credits his family.

His early career

Kudus started his youth career at the age of nine with his hometown club, Strong Tower FC

According to Kudus, it was at Strong Tower FC, his very first club, that he was seriously involved in football for the first time.

He said his old coach gave him the freedom to play his own game and helped him in development without trying to take a defensive midfielder from him. 

He grew up watching Thiago Alcantara and enjoyed his game. While playing in Denmark, one of his friends arranged a shirt from Thiago

The shirt still hangs at his house, and he is very proud of it. He aspires to play like Thiago because of the balance he finds between defending and attacking.

Kudus was always given a ball to make the moves, and even though he lost ten times, he kept on trying. 

Today he plays with the same mentality, same creativity, and joy of playing, which has shaped him into the player he is today. 

Kudus joined Ghanaian Academy Right to Dream before moving to Denmark to play for Danish side Nordsjaelland in 2018

He made his official debut with the club just three days after his 18th birthday.

His performance is full of praise 

After making his official debut for Ajax, he was soon to impress then-Ajax manager Erik ten Hag, who gave him the tag of “player with incredible performance.” 

Kudus’s back-to-back score in UEFA Champions League games for Ajax has further impressed everyone, even the Liverpool manager

During the Championship League games against Liverpool at Anfield, his powerful score and impressive strike to cancel the goal from Mohamed Salah were highly praised though they narrowly lost. 

“It was an incredible strike from Kudus,” said Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after the game.

Born in Accra, Ghana, Kudus was raised by his mom and his grandmother, who worked hard to provide food on the table for him and his three older siblings. 

His mother sacrificed a lot and even risked her life for him.
