He was having an extramarital affair with her mother while in a marital relationship with his second wife, Khalilah Ali.
After the birth of Miya, her parents separated without exchanging vows.
She has eight half-siblings
Muhammad was the father of nine children from his different relationships, and Miya was his fourth child.
Ali was married to Sonji Roi, a cocktail waitress to whom he was introduced by Herbert Muhammad, his long-time manager.
Ali popped the question after their first date, and a month later, in August 1964, they exchanged wedding vows.
Two years later, their marriage ended because of Roi's refusal to join the Nation of Islam.
The following year in August 1967, Ali wed for the second time to his second wife, Belinda Boyd, who later changed her name to Khalilah Ali.
From their marriage union, they gave birth to their four children, rapper Maryum in 1968, twins Jamillah and Rasheda in 1970, and Muhammad Ali Jr. in 1972.
At the time, Muhammad was having an extramarital affair with a 16-year-old Wanda Bolton, who later changed her name to Aaisha Ali, with whom Ali later married in an Islamic ceremony but was not legally recognized.
The couple gave birth to their daughter Khaliah in 1974.
Ali's continuous infidelity led to his second as well as third marriage to his third wife, actress Veronica Porche to an end with divorce before he finally settled with his fourth wife, Yolanda "Lonnie" Williams, in 1986.
He fathered two daughters, Hana and Laila, with Porche. With his fourth wife, Yolanda, he adopted a five-month-old son Asaad Amin in 1986.
