Who are her parents?
She was born in Sydney to her mother, Ammy Alcock. The name of her father is not revealed, but she was raised alongside her two siblings, both brothers.
Alcock, during an interview, described her family as a decidedly non-arty family and said that art was something she felt was just hers, that she had ownership over, as well as held onto that as a sense of independence and something she could call her own.
Acting was something she was good at because of this, she was accepted at the Newtown High School of the Performing Arts, but she dropped out due to her professional acting career.
When she arrived at the school, she had to google to find agencies and ask if they could hire her, as all her classmates already had agents. She was 13 at the time.
She had no idea she was auditioning for the hit show
Growing up in Sydney, New South Wales, with her two brothers, she caught an acting bug at an early age after she played Little Red Riding Hood (a jazzed-up version of the original fairy tale) in her early school.
She recalled being on the stage waving her hand for emphasis and having a euphoric feeling where she was like she wanted to feel like that for the rest of her life.
She made her debut in 2014 in her teenage appearing in the rom-com Wonderland.
Before she landed a prominent role in the Foxtel series Upright and the Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon, she was doing small roles in Australia.
But when she auditioned, she didn't know it was for the prequel. In an interview with Evening Standard, she said she got a self-tape for an unknown HBO project.
She went to audition with a friend, but she didn't know it was for House of the Dragon as HBO had removed it from the script.
Two weeks later, she landed a role. According to Alcock, she was at her friend's house making dinner when she got the call.
Still, she couldn't tell anyone that she was auditioning for it, so she sat outside to take the call, and when her agent told her that she was cast, she freaked out in the backyard and went inside and asked her friend if he had wine.
She then got drunk.
Her experience learning the Valyrian language
For House of the Dragon, Alcock had to learn some Valyrian language with multiple dialect coaches.
During a podcast, she shared what it was like learning Valyrian. According to her, learning Valyrian was like learning another song in another language.
She would learn the scene in English, and then she would have it printed out on a sheet, after which they would have it phonetically and would have an audio recording.
She then would say it. It became like muscle memory to her, so she didn’t have to think about what she was saying. Her mouth basically was on autopilot, she said.
Not only that, but she also learned how to ride a horse. She would spend hours practicing horse riding for the role.
She admitted to taking a lot of pressure on herself, knowing there is no one to blame but herself if it doesn't work.
Who is her boyfriend?
As of now, she is not dating anyone. But she was rumored to be dating Ari Kwasner-Catsi back in 2019 after she posted a picture with him on Instagram.
