Merche Luengo

Merche Luengo is the beautiful spouse of a professional football manager and a former player, Michel, who is the current manager of Getafe. 

As a former player, he spent most of his career with Real Madrid, where he experienced success individually and with the club.

Married for more than three decades 

Merche and Michel have been happily married couples for more than three decades of their lives. The couple first met through one of his teammates. 

She was the sister of one of his teammates and eventually started dating before exchanging their wedding vows in 1986.

They became inseparable from the day they met. She is lucky to have a husband like Michel, who dedicates most of his time to his family besides his busy schedule.

She is a mom and a grandmom

Merche is the proud mother of her two children, Adrian and Alvaro. The boys grew up in their family home in Majadahonda. 

They pursued their studies from Kensington School, a bilingual school of Pozeulo, and later joined SEK El Castillo of Villafranca and completed their studies there. 

Both of her sons are happily married. Her eldest son Adrian married his long-term girlfriend Natalia Coll in 2015 in a romantic wedding ceremony in the church of Santa Barbara de Madrid, while Alvaro exchanged wedding vows with his long-term girlfriend Rocio Garcia in 2017. 

The romantic wedding was organized on the beach in La Manga, Murcia. 

Merche and Michel are the proud grandparents of their three grandsons Nicolas (Nico), Ignacio, and Bruno, born in 2014, 2018, and 2021 respectively, to their parents Adrian and Natalia. They are incredibly close to their grandkids.

Her sons are in a different career field

Out of her two sons, her eldest son Adrian has chosen his career in football following his father’s footsteps. 

He is a professional football player. He made his senior debut with Real Madrid Castilla under the management of his father. 

After playing for several clubs, he currently plays for Real Zaragoza as a central midfielder. Her second son chose his career outside football. 

He is into business and social networks. After having studied Graphic Design at the Escuela Superior de Publicidad in Madrid, he started working as social media manager for 380amk, a company dedicated to the management of professional athletes and in sports marketing. 

He has served as a community manager for several companies that are dedicated to sports.

Her husband’s playing career was more successful compared to his managerial career

Her husband was 13 when he joined the Real Madrid Youth club and soon made his debut with the senior team. 

While at Madrid, he contributed to the team to winning six League titles between 1985 to 1990 and two UEFA Cups. 

He represented his nation Spain between 1985 to 1992, where he earned nearly 70 caps for his nation. 

As an individual player, he was crowned with several awards for his stunning performances. He mainly excelled at crossing ability and assisting in goal scoring. 

After he retiring as a player from football, he spent his seven years serving as a sports commentator before taking over the managerial job at Rayo Vallecano in 2005. 

In 2006, he joined Real Madrid Castilla as a manager but was soon sacked from the post because of poor results. He was sacked second time from at Getafe CF. Later, he was appointed as manager of Sevilla FC. 

He had stunning seasons at Olympiacos, where he led the team to win two national championships and the 2013 Greek Cup. 

After resigning from the Mexican club Liga Mx, Michel returned to Getafe FC on the 27th of May,2021, having previously managed Marseille and Malaga. There is a lot more to see in the coming days.
