The Birth of Maine Cabin Masters
The reality shows Maine Cabin Masters has been running successfully since its debut on the 2nd of January, 2017.
The show features Chase Morrill, who is a contractor and who leads the project, and his sister Ashley, a designer, Ashley's carpenter husband, Ryan Eldridge, and two other master carpenters, Matt "Dixie" Dix and Jared "Jedi" Baker, who all are equally important to run the show.
Each episode starts with Chase introducing Ashley and her husband to the poorly shaped cabin needing renovation and its owners.
Then the deadline and budget are set, and then the team comes up together to restore the properties, sometimes even adding modern features like solar panels and composting toilets.
But how did it all start from?
According to Chase, his daughter’s friend's mother knew a Denver–based production company “Dorsey Pictures” and introduced him to the producers who were looking for a carpenter crew to do a show based in Maine with years of experience restoring old log cabins camps and reusing material as much as possible.
Chase and his groups were interviewed via Skype and were selected.
They filmed the pilot episode near a pond site camp in Vassalboro, and when it was pitched to the DIY network, they immediately liked it.
The show became DIY’s highest-rated program over its first three seasons.
Talking about the budget, he said they work on fixed budgets and have the freedom to do what they need to get the job done within that budget.
