Massai Zhivago Dorsey II

Massai Zhivago Dorsey II is the son of an American actress Nia Long.

Massai graduated from the Birmingham Community High school in 2019 and joined Eastern Kentucky University. He plays baseball.

Who is his father?

His father is Massai Z. Dorsey Sr. who is an actor best recognized for his work in the movie Third Watch. 

Massai Sr. and Nina first met while she was filming the NBC crime drama Third Watch in 1999. 

They were engaged for 10 months before they broke up in 2001. They have been co-parenting Massai since then. 

He did a film with his mom 

Massai appeared alongside his mom in the 2014 comedy-drama film The Single Moms Club. He played her son in the movie. 

His mom Nia while appearing on Rachael Ray Show revealed that the only reason Massai did the film was to get the paycheck. 

She said at the time that they were taking the money and then-16-year-old Massai was getting the car eventually.

Nia later in an interview expressed what it was like working with Massai. 

According to her, Tyler Perry approached for a film to play the role of May, a single mom of a young boy. 

She at the time was unsure about how she was going to do that as she was doing House of Lies at the same time. 

She recalled asking Perry who he was going to cast as her son in the film to which he replied saying he would probably get a local kid in Atlanta. 

Nia then recommended Massai who was of the same age as the character and asked if he could audition for him. 

Though Perry said an audition isn’t required if she thinks he could do it, she wanted Massai to go through the entire process of earning something and she personally wanted him to understand what she does and how much hard work is required to get what we have. 

So, he did the audition and got the job. Nia said the experience was great because she didn’t have to leave him for that period of time.

His mother broke off her engagement to former Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka 

His mother started dating Ime Udoka in 2010. Udoka at the time was serving as an assistant coach to San Antonio Spurs. 

They gave birth to their son Kez Sunday Udoka in November 2011. 

In 2012, Nia in an interview said, she has never seen marriage work and that marriage is not a priority for her but at the same time hadn’t ruled out a wedding with Udoka. 

The couple got engaged in 2015. 

Everything seemed perfect until he got exposed cheating on Nia with one of the staff members of the Boston Celtics for which he got suspended for the 2022-2023 season. 

Talking about the cheating scandal and suspension to Hollywood Reporter, she said the most heart-breaking part about all of those was seeing the face of her son when the Boston Celtics announced Udoka’s suspension in public. 

She took her son out of school when the news broke out. She also expressed her disappointment with Celtics for not showing concern about her and her children. 

They didn’t call to see if she was ok, to see if her children were ok, she said.

After the cheating scandal, they put an end to their 13 years of relationship. 

Following her breakup, Nia has revealed that she will not be committed to any relationships.
