Marsha was a painter working as a waitress before she met Robin in 1984. She was appointed as a nanny for Robin's son Zachary.
Robin, at the time, was married to his first wife, Valerie Velardi, whom he met for the first time in 1976 in a bar when she was working in a bar in San Francisco as a waitress.
Velardi, in the HBO documentary "Come Inside My Mind," talked about Robin's infidelity during their marriage.
She said that Robin loved women, and she got it, and that she understood and wanted him to have that, but at the same time, she also wanted him to come home.
There was a rumor that Robin and Marsha's affair ended their marriage, but in the documentary, Velardi said that the relationship between Robin and Marsha began after they got separated.
She was married to Robin for two decades
Marsha walked down the aisle with Robin on the 30th of April, 1989, a year after Robin's divorce.
At the time of their marriage, she was already pregnant with their first child, Zelda Rae Williams.
Together, they welcomed their second child Cody Alan Williams in 1991.

How did Marsha and Robin come up with naming their daughter?
Marsha and Robin named their daughter Zelda. When Marsha was pregnant with Zelda, she and her then-husband were playing the game Legend Of Zelda.
He had bought one of the first Nintendo systems home with a very large TV and set it up. The name was addicting as they were playing for hours and hours.
That was how they came up with the name.
Robin said that a lot of people say she is named after American novelist Scott Fitzgerald's wife and cleared that she was named after Zelda from Legend of Zelda.
According to Zelda, she initially didn't like the name as her mates would make fun of her at school and thought of changing it when she would be 18 but ended up liking it.
Zelda is following in her late father's footsteps. She is an actress, director, producer, and writer. She made her acting debut at the age of five.
What led her ex-husband to kill himself?
Her ex-husband sadly passed away in August 2014 at the age of 63. He hung himself up with a belt that resulted in asphyxia leading him to death.
Susan Williams, his widow, during an interview, discussed her husband's tragic death.
According to Susan, she had left for work that morning thinking Robin was asleep.
She had asked his assistant to give her a call after he woke up, but his assistant sent her a message saying he was not up.
When she reached home, panicking, he was no more. Susan said that they were living a nightmare that eventually became the worst, leading him to suicide.
He was secretly battling depression, anxiety, and paranoia. In November of 2013, he had little gut pain followed by another symptom in the next month.
It was like an endless parade of symptoms, like playing whack-a-mole, she said. The same year he was diagnosed with early-stage of Parkinson's disease.
On the 24th of July, she noticed his towel soaked in blood.
The autopsy report revealed that he was suffering from a debilitating brain disorder, Lewy Body dementia, a complex disorder with very dramatic effects on thinking, emotions, and behavior.
Susan suggested that it was not depression that killed Robin, but it was Lewy body dementia that killed him.
During an interview with Guardian, she said she was not surprised that her husband had Lewy bodies throughout his brain and brain stem.
When the doctors asked her if she was surprised, she said she didn't know what Lewy's bodies were, but the fact that something had infiltrated every part of her husband's brain made perfect sense.
She admitted to Robin losing his mind and being aware of it. He was keeping it together as best as he could, she added.
Susan burst out into tears as she recalled Robin wishing her goodnight several times the night before his death which was his last conversation with her.
