She and her husband discussed Julian’s early career and his nickname
Mariana and her husband Gustavo, along with their sons Agustin and Rafael, discussed Julian’s early career and how he got his nickname.
While growing up, all of their three sons, Agustin, Rafael, and Julian, played football.
According to Mariana, all three of them were madly in love with football and played in every place in the home, in the garage, in the field, etc., and she had to shout at them at night because they would still be out playing and not want to leave.
When Agustin and Rafael joined Atletico Calchin, Julian followed them and played with them.

While at the football school, he would score a lot of goals in every match, which differentiated him from other older kids.
Rafael said to see Julian scoring many goals is not a different thing to him and Agustin as they have seen in Atletico Calchin every weekend.
Julian is nicknamed “La Arana,” which means the spider. The nickname was given to him while he was a kid as he looked like he had several legs.
According to Gustavo, stealing the ball from Julian was tough. Despite being small, he used to go very fast, and to take the ball away from him was something impossible.
He was noticeable among other teams also, and when the other teams visited Calchin, they would always ask if Little Spider was playing or not.
Since then, he started being called “La Arana.” When Julian was 11, he had trials with Real Madrid, where his team won, but despite him being only 11 at the moment, and the club only signing boys from 13-17, the director of the youth academy told them Julian could stay.
When he turned 15, he said to his dad he was going to take it if the club wanted to sign him and then he joined River Plate from Atletico Calchin in 2016 before moving to the senior squad in 2018.
His first trophy with River Plate was Copa Libertadores in his fifth match, where he scored six goals in an 8-1 victory over Alianza Lima.
His Spiderman goal celebration is the most iconic celebration in River Plate.
Her son Julian gifted his first coach a brand new van
Rafael Varas, the first coach of Julian, realized that Julian was born to play football and would turn out to be a world star from the moment he saw him beat four or five rivals and score a rabona goal when he was just eight or nine.
Varas denies being his coach saying how can one coach a player like him, one can only advise.
Varas, also a delivery driver at the day, was all in tears when Julian gifted him with a brand new van after finding out the van he was driving was not big enough.
In the autumn of 2020, Alvarez's father turned up outside his house to hand him the key to his new van.
