Maria Chiara Garberi Levito is the beloved mother of an American figure skater, Isabeau Levito.

She named her daughter after Michelle Pfeiffer’s character Isabeau d’Anjou from the 1987 film Ladyhawke.

So she decided to take her to the ice rink. She saw her daughter’s face lit up with happiness, so she enrolled her in learn-to-skate classes.
In an interview with NBC Sports, Maria said when she took her daughter for the first time to a public rink on the weekend to survey in 2009, she was not yet three years old and already wanted to skate.
When she told her she needed special shoes, she asked if the pair of rental skates next to the ice sheet was hers.
That was how it started. Her daughter started playing skating at the age of three and has been playing ever since.
Her coach Yulia in an interview, said they started teaching Isabeau the beginning basic skills when she was little.
Then she eventually fell in love with the whole process.
Her daughter won her first U.S. national championship
No one would be prouder than Maria to see her daughter stealing the limelight from age 12.
Isabeau first competed at her first U.S. Figure Skating Championship in 2018 at the Juvenile level, winning the title. She has been unstoppable ever since.
She went on to silver medal in the immediate category in 2019, the junior silver medal in 2020, and the junior national title in 2021.
She is the 2022 bronze medalist.
In 2023, she won her first US figure skating title at the age of 15, with a total score of 223.33 points.
She won the title surpassing the 2018 Olympic figure skating team bronze medalist Bradie Tennell, 24, who scored 213.12 and won the silver medal.
Amber Glenn, the 2022 Skate America bronze medalist, came in third position.
Isabeau, in an interview, said that her biggest personal achievement for her is learning how to relax at a competition and just enjoy the experience rather than trying to get through the experience.
