Margie Willett, an American celebrity, was popular because of being the former wife of an actor, comedian, dancer, producer, and singer named Dick Van Dyke.

Her Married Life and Husband

She met with her former husband, Dyke, in the year 1947. After their first meeting, the couple started seeing each other and dating.

After a few dates, the love birds decided to take their relationship to the next level and thus got married on February 12, 1948

They tied the knot during a live broadcast of the radio show, Bride and Groom. 

The producer of the show approached them to pay for all the expenses of their wedding if they married on the show. 

The couple happily accepted the offer as they did not have enough money for the wedding. The producer paid for the honeymoon as well. 

The wedding ceremony was held at Chapman Park Hotel on Wilshire Boulevard in LA

She and her former husband were blessed with four children, namely Barry Van Dyke, Carrie Beth van Dyke, Stacy Van Dyke and Christian Van Dyke

Due to miscarriage, she lost her twin children in her early years of married life. 

She has great-grandchildren whose names are Alex Van Dyke, Ava Van Dyke, Gracie Van Dyke, Jane Van Dyke, and Mia Van Dyke

The couple officially ended their marriage in 1984.

Both husband and wife were addicts

Margie had the addiction of prescription drugs while her husband had the addiction of alcohol. They even went to the same rehabilitation center for their treatment. 

Her addiction to drugs took away her life in 2008, at the age of 81 years. The cause of death was pancreatic cancer.
