Malaak was married to celebrity Chris Rock

Malaak and Chris met at the Essence Awards on April 1996. After that, they dated each other and eventually decided to get married the same year they met. 

They tied the knot on November 23, 1996. The couple lived in Alpine, New Jersey, with their daughters. 

Her ex-husband, Chris Rock, is an American Stand-up comedian and actor born in Andrews, South California, United States. 

He is also a writer, producer, and director and has served the entertainment industry for many years. 

After doing stand-up comedy and appearing in supporting film roles in the early 1990s, Chris came into wider fame as a cast member of Saturday Night Live.

Malaak is a mother of beautiful daughters

Malaak and Chris have two daughters, Lola Simone Rock, born on 28 June 2002, and Zahra Savannah Rock, born on 27 May 2004. 

These two daughters are their biological daughters, and they have one more girl named Ntombi, whom they adopted from South Africa in 2008. 

Malaak posted pictures of her daughters on her Instagram, and in the caption, she wrote that they are her heartbeats and she loves them a lot. 

Malaak has always treated all three daughters equally. 

Though Ntombi is not her biological child, she proved that family is made and related with love and not blood. 

All her three daughters have grown up as beautiful and strong ladies, and she is proud to be the mother of three amazingly beautiful girls. 

Why did Malaak and Chris get separated?  

In 2014, Rock filed for a divorce. Chris admitted that his 18 years of marriage fell apart due to his disloyalty. 

Chris cheated on his wife, and he was also struggling with pornography addiction.  

He was subject to child support, alimony, and other payments requested by his wife. 

Still, he argued that she has the ability to work and contribute to her own support or another financial need of the children. 

Also, Chris refused to pay any child support to Ntombi, which he claims he has no part in adopting. 

But Malaak continuously demanded support that matched her standard of living. On August 22, 2016, the divorce got finalized.  

After the divorce, both Malaak and Chris moved on with their lives. The strong, classy lady keeps posting pictures with her man on her social media.
