Lynette Federer

Lynette Federer is the proud mother of a Swiss professional tennis star, Roger Federer. 

Lynette, who was born in South Africa, was a top athlete in several sports including track and field, netball, and field hockey during her school days. 

She had to quit later because of her developing leg injuries.

Born to his parents Robert and Lynette, 39 years Roger is a winner of 20 Grand Slam singles titles, eight Wimbledon men's singles titles, six Australian titles, five US Open titles, and a French Open titles. 

He started his foundation with an aim to facilitate disadvantaged children with a proper education system at the age of 22. 

The foundation has been successful in covering the disadvantaged children of South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, and Switzerland to date.

Lynette is happily married to her husband Robert, a German-Swiss. Robert who served as an executive at a Pharmaceutical firm Ciba-Geigy first met Lynette at the cafeteria of the firm as she was also serving the same firm. 

At the time, he was in his 20s, and she was in her late teens. They started dating each other and eventually fell in love. 

They got married in 1973. The duo has been together since then.

A small private wedding 

The couple's wedding was a small private wedding in the presence of family and closed ones. 

After their happy wedding, the newly wedded couple moved to Basel, Switzerland.

Lynette and Robert together share two children 

The happily married couple is blessed with two children, including a son and a daughter. 

They first welcomed their daughter Diana in 1979 and their son Roger in 1981. Roger was born on 8th August 1981, in Canton hospital of Basel, Switzerland. 

Diana is a registered nurse who is currently working in Switzerland and Roger, a great tennis player of all time.

Not only the parents of their children, but they also have become the grandparents of their six grandchildren. 

Their daughter Diana is blessed with beautiful twin daughters, whereas Roger, with his wife, is blessed with identical twin daughters and twin sons.

As a parent, both husband and wife unconditionally supported in enhancing their children's careers. 

Never being pushy they supported their children's interest and took an interest in their lives. According to Lynette

'The children have to put their hearts and souls into it.  They cannot be forced to do it, not by the mother, the father, the school,, and the coach'. 

Roger often credits his parents for their great parenting and wishes to apply the same technique with their children.
