Jordan Henderson, who started his career at Sunderland, joined Liverpool in June 2011. 

Appointed captain-ship after the departure of legend Steven Gerrard, he is the engine that keeps the team going through his hard work in both attacks and defense.

Married to a Police officer

Liz got married to Brian Henderson, who is a retired police officer. But unfortunately, this married could not last for long.

Her husband won the cancer battle

Her husband, Brian, was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2013. 

However, he managed to keep his cancer battle secret from his son because he did not want his son to see him in that condition and derail his football career. 

Brian only revealed the devastating news when his life-saving surgery drew nearer. 

He first shared the news with the former Sunderland midfielder and to his Anfield boss Brendan Rodger. 

He had radiotherapy and surgery to remove lymph nodes from his neck and a tumor from his tongue, which left a hole size of a 50 pence size. 

He said that the thought of his son playing for England in the World Cup helped him through the cancer battle.

Blessed with two children and three grandchildren 

The couple together was blessed with two children, Jordan and Joddy Henderson. 

Jordan and his wife Rebecca share altogether three children, which makes the couple grandparents of three grandchildren, Elexa, born in 2014, Alba born in 2015, and a baby born in February 2020. 

For his second child, Jordan managed to attend his wife's delivery before driving back to Wembley to play cup in a semi-final in 2015.

Jordan shared an emotional embrace with his dad with whom he had shared his dream of being in a Champion League after having the champion league victory. 

That was the moment that shed everyone into tears. He made sure to spend his time with his dad Brian, who survived from cancer. 

A proud father shared his immense joy with tears in his eyes and said that he was unbelievably proud of his son.
